Hello, I am Dr. Megan Plateman. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. For my undergraduate degree, I received a Bachelor's in Animal Science with Pre-Veterinary Qualifications at the University of Nevada, Reno. 

While I was in school, I worked as a veterinary assistant and technician. Before entering veterinary school, I worked at local veterinary hospitals, as a certified veterinary technician.  

For my graduate degree or DVM, I went overseas to the University of Edinburgh, Scotland’s: Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. My husband and I lived over there for 5 years. It was an experience we both will not forget!

I enjoy working with not only dogs & cats, but birds of all different shapes and sizes, as well as turtles and tortoises. 

My particular interests are in the above, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and advances with diagnostic imaging and treatments in internal medicine. Continuing education in many avenues has always been exciting for me.  My future goal is to work with endoscopy.
