Dr. Mark Ditsworth
Dr. Ditsworth grew up in San Diego and Las Vegas. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Nevada Reno and graduated veterinary school from Oregon State/Washington State in 1983. His goals as a veterinarian are to provide the highest-quality medicine available and to always research new ways to provide the best care. Before purchasing Kings Row Pet Hospital with his wife of 25 years, Loni, he worked at Baring Blvd Veterinary Hospital. He takes a special interest in avian medicine, internal medicine and endoscopy. He also enjoys the challenges of soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
Mark and Loni have always had a menagerie of pets in their house. At present, they have three dogs, Izzie (an English Setter), Einstein (a long-hair chihuahua) and Charg-her ( an English Setter) as well as three Manx cats - Annie, Tink and Mia. During his free time, Dr. Ditsworth likes to go golfing, camping and hiking. He enjoys the outdoors and likes spending time with his family and friends.
Dr. Ellen Cook-Champagne
Dr. Cook-Champagne graduated from UC-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After two years practicing in a large and small animal practice in Angels Camp, Calif., she moved back to her home in Rocklin, Roseville and Auburn area of Placer Country, California. There, she worked in several area hospitals, including a stint in Angels Camp again before managing a corporate-owned practice in South Sacramento. She moved to Reno in 2004 with her two dogs, her horse and a longer, now hyphenated name. (We call her Dr. C, Dr. Champagne or Dr. Ellen.)
Dr. Cook-Champagne does the ultrasound imaging for Kings Row Pet Hospital and has a special interest in auto-immune diseases and skin conditions.
Dr. Natalie Green DVM (Now seeing patients)
Dr. Natalie Green grew up in Georgia and earned her BS at the University of Georgia and her DVM degree from Ross University. She has been practicing veterinary medicine since 2003, and has been working at a vet clinic since she was 15 years old. With a husband in the military, she had the advantage of pursuing her passion for veterinary medicine in Georgia, Southern California, Alabama, Hawaii, and now Nevada. Her husband retired from active duty in 2019 and they chose the Reno/Tahoe area as their forever home. While the cold weather is a shock to the system after living in Hawaii, Dr. Natalie, her husband, young daughter, an old boxer (Bryson), an old chocolate lab (Tahoe), and two spunky kitties-Lilikoi and Lanikai, are all adjusting well! Dr. Natalie has an active lifestyle with her family spending as much time outdoors as possible, paddle boarding, hiking, snowboarding, swimming, camping, and exploring their new town.
Dr. Natalie became 'fear free certified' in 2017 and likes to approach pets in a way that makes them feel more comfortable in an often scary veterinary environment. You will often find her handing out special treats to patients for distraction and to make them feel more at ease. Her other veterinary interests are in soft tissue surgery, behavior, and dermatology.
Dr. Jamie Sherman DVM (Now seeing patients)
Dr. Sherman grew up in Connecticut and completed her undergraduate work at Syracuse University in New York, before moving to the left coast (aka "best coast") for graduate school. Dr. Sherman spent five years at UC Davis pursuing her PhD in wildlife biology with a special focus on black bears. During that time she worked with veterinarians from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on all species big and small, from voles and turtles, to bears, bighorn sheep and elk. In order to couple her passion for research and medicine, Dr. Sherman proceeded to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis in 2019, with training in small and large animals and exotics. Dr. Sherman joined Kings Row Pet Hospital in October of 2019. Dr. Sherman is happy to see dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets and pocket pets. She has a special interest in preventative medicine, pain management, and bringing the latest in veterinary medicine to your pets!
Dr. Sherman has a 10 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd, named Eloise. She enjoys spending time with her dog, friends and family, and of course, binge-watching Netflix.
Dr. Sara Hogle was born and raised in Crescent City, a small, remote town in coastal northern California. She was introduced to veterinary medicine very early in life by her father, who is a veterinarian. As a young girl she developed a passion for the profession that has only grown stronger over the years. She completed her Bachelor of Science and veterinary medical degrees at the University of California, Davis, graduating with honors from undergrad and as valedictorian of her veterinary class.
After graduation, she traveled with her husband, Chris, to Ecuador, where they volunteered with a wild animal rescue and rehabilitation facility deep in the Amazon jungle. She had the extraordinary opportunity to apply her medical and surgical knowledge there, working with monkeys, capybaras, reptiles, parrots, wild pigs, ocelots, and many other fascinating animals.
Upon return to the states, she resumed her work with dogs and cats in October 2008, working at Baring Blvd Veterinary Hospital for more than 10 years, prior to joining the wonderful team at Kings Row Pet Hospital in November 2019. While Dr. Hogle’s passion and dedication for providing the very best care for her dog and cat patients has only grown over the years, she is very excited to have the opportunity to work with exotic animals once again alongside her extraordinary colleagues at King’s Row. Her special interests include dentistry, ultrasound, internal medicine, emergency/critical care and soft-tissue surgery.
When she is not caring for her patients and clients, Dr. Hogle enjoys hiking, kayaking, cross-country and downhill skiing, teaching at Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program, gardening, camping, and enjoying the outdoors with her adventurous German Shepherd, Hoodoo, husband, Chris (a fish and wildlife biologist), and two energetic little ladies, Chloe and Olivia.
